ANOTHER WHOPPING TAX INCREASE
$90 MILLION WORKS YARD GOES AHEAD
AND A NICE 9.5% INCREASE IN WAGES FOR IAFF
The Grinch would be delighted with the efforts of the Mayor Krog Kouncil to steal Christmas this year. While many Nanaimo families will be relying on a gift certificate from the food bank for their Christmas feast, the Grinch announces yet another whopping tax increase adding another 7% to the 50% increases of these past years. On top of that it is announced the city is hell bent on going ahead with the $90 million works yard, inspite of the resounding rejection of citizens to the AAP ask. While the Mayor would dismiss the 8600+ votes against the borrowing of $90 million, it should be pointed out that 6 city councillors didn't get that many votes last election.
This year it isn't the Grinch in Whoville tightening the screws. It's your city hall!
