RCMP PUT CITIZEN UNDER ARREST

Urgent: Public Accountability at City Council

On July 16, 2025, at a City of Nanaimo Committee meeting, a citizen was removed from the meeting and arrested by the RCMP after expressing an opinion related to an agenda item. Despite speaking in a calm and controlled manner, the individual was escorted out of the chamber and arrested, without clear justification.

This video captures the entire exchange between the mayor, the citizen, and the RCMP. The actions of the mayor and police raise serious questions about the right to free expression in public meetings.
