Many, if not most Nanaimo taxpayers really don't realize just how badly they are being over taxed in these past 9 years. This council led by Mayor Krog has given a green light to taxing and spending like never before.
If you have followed this website for any time you know two of the issues are, this Council not being directed by a Core Service Review nor do they have any concern for what level of taxation is sustainable for average Nanaimo taxpayers.
Taxes in the past 4 years have increased by 50% or more for most Nanaimo households. This will result in a doubling of taxes in less than 7 years. For people on a fixed income, keeping a roof over their head now is a struggle. For those same people being out of their homes in a few more years, is a very real possibility.
YOU can do something to get taxes under control by adding your voice to the VOICE of NANAIMO, tell your friends about this website, give them a copy of this handout telling it like it is.
