YES, THIS COULD HAPPEN WITH THIS BYLAW
THEY WILL SAY IT WON'T HAPPEN, BUT CAN YOU BELIEVE THEM?
Tell this Council they are going way too far with this Rights-destroying, over-the-top Bylaw. It is something you might expect in North Korea, but is unacceptable in CANADA.Send an email to the Mayor and Council demanding they remove this Bylaw immediately.

Mayor and Council;
I am writing to you with regard to the recent bylaw passed by this council, which will not allow me to peacefully attend and record a city council meeting at the Conference Centre, which is my right under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The idea I could be banned from city property for up to 18 months for simply taking a photo of a sporting event on city property because some random employee decides I am in violation of this bylaw is simply not acceptable in a free and democratic country.
I add my voice to what I hope is a scream from the voters of Nanaimo who are disgusted with this example of extreme Council overreach.
Yours truly:
